1. Your Rights Under CCPA/CPRA

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) give you specific rights over your personal information. These rights apply to Mission Carbon's collection and use of your data.

Other US states with comprehensive privacy laws (such as Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and Texas) have similar rights frameworks. Mission Carbon extends the same request mechanisms to all US residents.

Right to Know

Know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, the sources, and the purposes for which it is used.

Right to Access

Obtain a copy of the specific personal information Mission Carbon holds about you.

Right to Delete

Request deletion of personal information we have collected about you, subject to limited legal exceptions.

Right to Correct (CPRA)

Request correction of inaccurate personal information that Mission Carbon holds about you.

Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing

Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. Mission Carbon does not sell or share personal information.

Right to Limit Sensitive PI (CPRA)

Request that Mission Carbon limit the use of sensitive personal information to what is necessary to provide the requested service.

Right to Non-Discrimination

Mission Carbon will not discriminate against you — including by denying service or charging different prices — for exercising any CCPA/CPRA right.

2. We Do Not Sell Your Data

Mission Carbon does not sell personal information to third parties. Mission Carbon does not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising purposes.

Under CCPA, "selling" includes sharing personal information for monetary or other valuable consideration. Mission Carbon does not engage in any such activity. You therefore have no need to opt out, but the right to opt out is available to you regardless.

Mission Carbon may share limited information with trusted service providers — such as hosting, analytics, authentication, and AI providers — solely to operate the platform. These providers are prohibited from using your data for their own purposes.

3. Right to Know & Access

You have the right to request that Mission Carbon disclose the following information about the personal data we have collected about you in the 12 months prior to your request:

  • The categories of personal information collected
  • The categories of sources from which the personal information was collected
  • The business or commercial purpose for collecting the personal information
  • The categories of third parties with whom Mission Carbon shares personal information
  • The specific pieces of personal information collected about you

To submit a Right to Know or Access request, email privacy@missioncarbon.app with the subject California Privacy Rights Request — Know.

4. Right to Delete

You have the right to request deletion of personal information that Mission Carbon has collected from you. Upon a verified request, Mission Carbon will delete your personal information and instruct service providers to do the same, subject to limited exceptions where retention is required by law.

You may also delete your account directly in the Mission Carbon app — go to the Profile tab and tap Delete Account. Your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

To submit a deletion request by email, contact privacy@missioncarbon.app with the subject California Privacy Rights Request — Delete.

5. Right to Correct

Under CPRA, you have the right to request that Mission Carbon correct inaccurate personal information that we hold about you. Upon a verified request, Mission Carbon will use commercially reasonable efforts to correct the identified inaccuracy.

To submit a correction request, email privacy@missioncarbon.app with the subject California Privacy Rights Request — Correct, describing the inaccuracy and the correction you are requesting.

6. Sensitive Personal Information

Under CPRA, you have the right to request that Mission Carbon limit the use of your sensitive personal information to what is necessary to provide the service.

Sensitive personal information that Mission Carbon may collect includes:

  • Account login credentials (email address and password/authentication tokens)
  • Precise geolocation data (if ever collected — currently Mission Carbon only uses approximate IP-based location)

Mission Carbon uses sensitive personal information only to provide and maintain the service. To request limitation of use, email privacy@missioncarbon.app.

7. Non-Discrimination

Mission Carbon will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA/CPRA rights. This means Mission Carbon will not deny you service, charge you a different price, provide a lower quality of service, or take any other adverse action because you exercised a privacy right.
